Kirovsk Airport is not just a departmental airport of the biggest world fertilizer manufacturer Apatit OAO but an air gate of ski resort Khibiny as well. In 2014 Apatit OAO allocated money and the big reconstruction work started. The airport had to be brought into compliance with all industry-specific and world standards with a final goal to make it an international airport.

In 2016 the state border inspection post opening and gaining an international airport status are anticipated. International flights will connect Apatity city with neighbouring Finland and Norway. In this respect executive management of the airport set the task to inform foreign passengers in their native languages: Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, English and German.

Integral Systems won the tender for supply and installation of such system: to solve the task of providing information for passengers our specialists implemented at the airport the Flight Information Display System IS-FIDS and the system of speech synthesizing (electronic announcer) IS-AVIS.

Unique speech synthesizing system IS-AVIS helps to inform passengers conveniently. Even those dispatchers who don’t know foreign languages are able to pass necessary information to passengers as the system immediately translates messages from Russian to foreign languages and vocalizes them.

In the beginning of 2014 Kirovsk airport completed the project for equipping the terminal with modern Flight Information Display System FIDS and system of synthesizing voice messages (electronic announcer) in Russian and Scandinavian languages. Our airport implemented IS-FIDS system made by Integral Systems. Implementation of the system was quite complicated as our personnel didn’t have experience of work with such systems, the term of implementation was cut by our request, but we were satisfied with promptness of problem solving and thoughtful attitude of Integral Systems specialists. We plan to co-operate with Integral Systems in future as well.
